Traditional English Haven

Tranquil and colourful, this 70 foot garden is a magnet for bees. Scattered with heritage roses and quirky touches such as her sleeping gnome, it is a personal paradise with a universal appeal.

The owner says: Ours is a very traditional English garden with a patio, lawn and beds. We’ve been here for fourteen years and it’s still a work in progress and is always evolving. We’re in the process of rescuing it from the children at the moment, turning a football pitch into a garden! The bees love our Ceanothus and are very attracted to the purple flowers. I also have roses from cuttings from my old family home which I treasure.

One of my favourite things in the garden is a sleeping gnome, the feet were modelled on a baby’s feet and look delightful. My sister had one and gave a copy to my parents, we then named them both Didymus. I liked them so much my dear sister bought me one too – so now there are three Didymus figure (so triplets not twins!)
