Neat Petite

Lillian’s small garden now is a far cry from the patch of scrubby grass with two coal bunkers that she had to tackle when she moved in 2003. Now it’s a beautifully cared for oasis of calm.

Lillian says: During the gardening season, I look after the garden almost every evening after coming home from work. I also spend a lot of time at weekends there. It is my greatest solace and very calming.

I love my roses, they are magnificent, though a lot of work too. I also love my miniature gardens. Growing vegetables is fun to do as well. There’s always something to do.

I also have a long shared path along the side of the house, and use it extensively too. I grow fruit and vegetables in hanging pouches, and herbs along the side of the house.
