The Country Garden
Isobel & Robert have been looking after their gloriously large garden since 1992, and what was once a play area for the children has now become a tranquil and beautifully planted space.
Isobel says: We moved here in 1992 and to begin with the garden was a fantastic play area for the children, it’s a very good size and we’ve been very lucky to have the space. Now the children have grown up and left home we have added more plants and a small vegetable garden. We never really set out to design the space, it has just evolved.
It’s full of herbaceous borders which gives it a country garden style. Over the years we’ve formalised the shape more. My husband Robert looks after the lawn and helps me with construction projects and pruning but I look after the planting. My favourite parts of the garden are the wisteria, the magnificent Acer Drumondii and our vegetable garden.
